On an electric model the element and its wiring; on a gas model the igniter, the flame sensor and the valve coils. Make sure the gas shutoff valve for the dryer is fully open. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my LG dryer show 9A5 instead of GAS? The segment display draws the letters G, A and S in a way that reads like 9A5. LG treats both readings as the same gas supply message. ### Can a new LG gas dryer show GAS right after installation? Yes, and LG's advice then is to check the valve first and go back to the installer if the line looks damaged or the valve is already open.
