On an electric model the element and its wiring; on a gas model the igniter, the flame sensor and the valve coils. Stop the cycle and clean the lint screen. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can HC on a Samsung dryer mean it is not hot enough? Sometimes. Samsung notes that low voltage on an electric model can leave the heater short of temperature and still bring up HC, which is why the supply voltage is worth checking. ### Why did HC come up during a Samsung vent test? The vent test can report HC as an abnormal temperature.
