What E1
actually means.
On a Kenmore whose model number begins 110, E1 is a thermistor failure. The control has lost a sensible reading from its temperature sensor, and Sears expects roughly 10,000 ohms from a good one at room temperature.

Stackable dryer

In Kenmore's own words
Unplug the dryer and then check the resistance of the thermistor (temperature sensor).
