Bosch dryers,
specifically.

Bosch dryers in the US are 24-inch compact machines that need no exhaust duct: a condensation dryer in the 300 Series and heat-pump dryers above it. They are usually stacked on or set beside a Bosch washer, so most calls revolve around lint screens, the condenser, the collected water and the shared power connection.

The Bosch lineup

What is particular
to Bosch.

The 300 Series WTG86400UC is a condensation dryer, while the 500 Series WQB245B0UC and the WTW87NH1UC are heat-pump models; all are 24 inches wide and stack with a Bosch washer. The heat-pump models add a compressor and the self-cleaning condenser to what a visit may need to test.

A condenser that rinses itself

Bosch heat-pump dryers flush lint off the condenser with every cycle instead of relying on a second filter. That only works with the blue filter fully seated; if it is not, lint travels into the condenser and can clog it.

One power connection for the pair

A Bosch washer can plug into the back of the dryer, and the supplied power adapter feeds both machines from one 30-amp dryer receptacle. A pair that goes dark together often has one cause, starting at the adapter, its fuses or the breaker.

Room temperature sets drying time

The heat-pump manual names an ambient range of 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit for normal drying time. A dryer in a cold garage or a sealed hot closet can run long with nothing broken.

Water goes to a container or a drain

Condensed water ends up in a pull-out container or runs out through the outlet hose. A full container, a kinked hose or a dirty container filter will stop a program, and all three are checked before any part is suspected.

Parts

Bosch states that function-relevant spare parts are available from its customer service for up to 15 years after a model is placed on the market. Parts are still matched by the E-Nr. on the rating label, which is confirmed before ordering.

Repair or replace

A compact ventless dryer is chosen because a duct is hard or impossible to run, so replacing it means finding another 24-inch ventless unit that fits the stack. That usually makes repair the better answer unless the heat-pump circuit itself has failed on an older machine.

Questions about
Bosch dryers.

Why does my Bosch dryer show Hot with the drum still turning after the program?
That is the cooling phase, not a problem. On the 500 Series it can last up to 10 minutes, and Bosch asks you not to change the program while it runs.
Do I have to clean the condenser on a Bosch heat-pump dryer?
Not by hand on the self-cleaning models, which rinse it every cycle. Your part is to keep the lint filters clean and the blue filter snapped fully into place, because lint that gets past it can clog the condenser.
My Bosch dryer stopped and shows the water container symbol; how do I get it running again?
Empty the condensation container and push it back in until it seats. If you drain through the outlet hose, make sure the hose is connected and not kinked or trapped, and clean the container filter if it is dirty. Book a visit if the program still will not run.
