ASKO dryers,
specifically.

Asko's US dryers are 24-inch Scandinavian heat-pump machines such as the T208H and T411HS, usually stacked on an Asko washer. They collect water in a tank or send it down a drain hose, and they describe problems in words on a text display, with an E-number for anything that needs a technician.

The ASKO lineup

What is particular
to ASKO.

The Classic T208H and the Logic T411HS are heat-pump dryers with a condensate tank and optional drain hose, and the T411HS adds steam programs. The model decides which messages the display can show and whether a steam generator is part of the diagnosis.

A foam filter at the heat pump

Besides the net filter in the door, Asko heat-pump dryers have a foam heat-pump filter behind a lower cover. The manual asks for it to be cleaned about every ten cycles with a vacuum, not rinsed, and it is the first thing checked on a slow-drying call.

Clogged filters trip an overheat stop

When the door filter and heat-pump filter clog, an automatic overheating cutoff switches the dryer off mid-program. After the filters are cleaned and the machine has cooled, it normally runs again, so a stop like this is not proof of a failed part.

Steam made from its own condensate

On steam models such as the T411HS, the steam generator tank starts with distilled water and then refills itself with water condensed out of the laundry. Tap water is ruled out because limescale can damage the steam heater.

Stacking hardware made for Asko washers

An Asko dryer stacks with extra feet and a two-part tipping guard, and Asko notes that part B may not fit other brands' washers. A stack on another brand deserves a check of how the dryer is secured before it is worked on.

Parts

Asko parts are ordered against the full model and serial number on the rating plate, and some heat-pump and steam components can take time to arrive. Filters and door-net parts are the simplest items to source.

Repair or replace

A compact heat-pump dryer is chosen for spaces without a duct, and matching Asko stacking hardware limits the choice of a replacement. Unless the heat-pump circuit or control unit has failed on an older machine, repair is normally the sensible route.

Questions about
ASKO dryers.

How often should I clean the filters on an Asko heat-pump dryer?
Clean the net filter in the door after every drying cycle. Vacuum the foam heat-pump filter at least every ten cycles, and wipe its housing and net at the same interval; Asko asks you not to rinse the foam under water.
My Asko dryer stopped in the middle of a program. Is it broken?
Often not. A clogged door filter or heat-pump filter can trigger the automatic overheating shutoff, so clean both, let the dryer cool, and try again. If it still will not start, book a visit.
Can I stack an Asko dryer on a washer from another brand?
Asko supplies extra feet and a tipping guard for stacking, but notes that part B of the guard is designed for Asko washers and may be hard or impossible to fit on other brands. Get the stack checked if you are unsure how it is secured.
