What the ventless dryer condenser and pump repair
involves.

A ventless dryer keeps its air inside a loop and takes the water out of it. A condenser model does that with a heat exchanger cooled by room air, and a heat-pump model with a small sealed refrigerant circuit. The water drops into a sump, and a condensate pump lifts it to a tank or a drain hose. Ventless dryer condenser and pump work covers the exchanger and its seals, the second filter, the pump and tank sensor, and on a heat-pump model the fan and the sealed circuit itself.

How the visit goes

Ventless condenser and pump repair,
step by step.

Replace the failed part, refit the seals, and run a full cycle while watching the water collect.

01

Clean and inspect the door filter, the second filter and the condenser, which answer most slow-drying calls.

02

Check the sump, the condensate pump, the tank sensor and the drain hose route for blockage or kinks.

03

Test the heater or the heat-pump compressor and its fan, and read temperatures across the circuit where there is one.

04

Replace the failed part, refit the seals, and run a full cycle while watching the water collect.

All service areas

Tampa BayFL · 31 areas

Ventless dryers are less common in Tampa Bay houses than in apartments, but where one is installed, its condenser and lint filters need frequent cleaning because humid indoor air already slows the cycle.

OrlandoFL · 30 areas

In Orlando's vacation condos and smaller apartments a ventless heat-pump dryer may be the only option, and a full water tank or a pump that no longer empties it will halt the cycle.

Miami / South FloridaFL · 47 areas

Ventless dryers suit Miami towers where adding an exhaust is not permitted, and their condensers clog with lint; a pump that fails to clear the condensate can leave water on a floor that sits above another unit.

New York MetroNY · 75 areas

Ventless condenser and heat-pump dryers are common in New York apartments where venting is restricted, and a clogged condenser, a failed drain pump or a full reservoir lies behind many slow-drying calls.

HoustonTX · 36 areas

Ventless dryers turn up in Houston apartments and some remodels, and in that climate the condenser needs regular cleaning; water near the drain hose or pump usually signals a blocked line.

ChicagoIL · 50 areas

Chicagoland condos in older buildings sometimes use ventless dryers where a new vent could not be cut, and a condenser that clogs slowly shows up as longer cycles well before any error appears.

Los AngelesCA · 95 areas

Heat-pump dryers are showing up in more Los Angeles apartments and remodels, and their filters and drain pumps need attention; a dryer that runs cool and long is often signaling a clogged coil.

San DiegoCA · 31 areas

In San Diego apartments and backyard accessory units a ventless dryer is often chosen to save wall space, and a pump or drain line clogged with lint is the usual cause of water pooling beneath it.

San Francisco Bay AreaCA · 74 areas

Heat-pump dryers turn up often in Bay Area flats with no practical vent path and in homes moving off gas, and a clean condenser plus a working drain pump keep their long cycles from getting longer still.

Questions about
the ventless dryer condenser and pump repair.

Why is water leaking from my ventless dryer?
The tank may be seated badly, the drain hose may have slipped or kinked, or the condensate pump may have stopped moving water so the sump overflows. A seal around the condenser can also drip. Each has its own sign, and the first check is the tank and the hose.
The full-tank light is on with an empty tank. What does that mean?
Usually the pump is not lifting water, so the sump fills and the float reports a full tank. A blocked pump filter or a failed pump is the common cause, and a sticking float switch is the next one.
How often should the condenser be cleaned?
Check it every month or so on a condenser model and follow the filter schedule on a heat-pump model. Some self-clean with a rinse of condensed water, but lint still builds up where the rinse does not reach.
Is a heat-pump dryer worth repairing?
For filters, pumps, sensors and belts, yes. These dryers are costly to replace. A failed compressor on an older heat-pump dryer is the one repair where replacement deserves a serious look.
